A simple electrical project like connecting to an outlet, extending an electrical cable, or fixing a connection involves five separate tasks: cutting wires, stripping the insulation, splitting cable jacket, twisting connections and crimping terminals.

These multi-function wire stripping pliers will work by cutting through the wire to strip the insulation away. The pliers have a series of precisely sized holes in the jaw which are calibrated to the standard wire gauges or mm² wire sizes.

The distinguishing feature of each hole is that it removes the plastic coating from a special size of electrical wire without cutting into the copper wire beneath it; this is an essential function that any electrical wire stripping tool must be able to do reliably. To the side of the stripping holes is a special splitting head which allows a strip of double or triple core cabling to be split through the outer sheath and in such a way that the conductors will not be nicked.
